Program for Mom's Scattering Ceremony

It took me awhile to put this together, it was a sad but healing process, and I feel more at peace than I have since my mom died.
She would be happy with the Song and word choices.

Miss Me But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,
why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not too long
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared
miss me but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take
and each must go alone
It’s all a part of the Universe’s plan
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to the loved ones we know,
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.

(Say Goodbyes)
Song: “Little Girl Blue” Janis Joplin
Song: “Oh My Love” John Lennon

(Read: “Feast of Friends” by Jim Morrison)
They are waiting to take us into
the severed garden
Do you know how pale and wanton thrillful
comes death on a strange hour
unannounced, unplanned for
like a scaring over-friendly guest you've
brought to bed
Death makes angels of us all
and gives us wings
where we had shoulders
smooth as raven's
claws

No more money, no more fancy dress
This other kingdom seems by far the best
until it's other jaw reveals incest
and loose obedience to a vegetable law.

I will not go
Prefer a Feast of Friends
To the Giant Family.

Song: “Feast of Friends” The Doors

(Scatter ashes)
Song: “Never Let me Go” Florence & the Machine
Song: “Gold Dust Woman” Fleetwood Mac

Last song: “Carry” Tori Amos
